Natural Resources Specialist (MPP-MW)

Serves as the Lower Colorado Basin Regional Office (LCBRO) National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Coordinator including program and budget management. Disseminates NEPA and other environmental information to LCBRO; provides guidance on environmental requirements; coordinates and consolidates NEPA related data calls; and collects, enters, and maintains NEPA related information in databases. Leads and/or participates as a member of interdisciplinary teams to provide environmental expertise; conducts environmental analyses and assures compliance with environmental laws. Develops and participates in NEPA related public involvement, education, and information programs. Prepares, directs, and reviews memoranda, technical reports, Statements of Work, Categorical Exclusion Checklists, Environmental Assessments, Findings of No Significant Impact, Environmental Impact Statements, and Records of Decision, and other documentation on environmental issues. Serves as the Environmental Review Coordinator for LCBRO. Analyzes environmental documents prepared by other agencies to determine impacts to Reclamation facilities and/or interests. Coordinates with other Federal agencies, Indian tribes, State agencies, and local entities on NEPA and environmental related activities. A. Degree:
biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position; ORB. Combination of education and
Experience:
Courses equivalent to a major, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT DESCRIBED ABOVE, YOU MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION AS DESCRIBED BELOW.To qualify for the GS-12 grade level, your resume must reflect:
One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-11 grade level in Federal service. Specialized Experience for the GS-12:
Specialized experience is defined as experience which may include NEPA program and budget management; conducting detailed NEPA analysis; leading interdisciplinary teams for NEPA projects; developing and participating in public involvement efforts for NEPA projects; experience in preparing Categorical Exclusion Checklists, Environmental Assessments, Findings of No Significant Impact, Environmental Impact Statements, Records of Decisions, or other documentation on environmental issues.
