Contract Specialist

To be eligible for this position, you must meet one of the Basic Requirements AND the Additional Qualification Requirement. Basic Requirements:
Successfully completed a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, in any field, from an accredited institution of higher education. Note:
You must submit copies of your transcripts. OR Completed at least 24 semester hours (or equivalent) in any combination of the following fields:
accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods or organization and management. Note:
You must submit copies of your transcripts. OR Currently employed in a GS-1102 position at any grade GS-05 through GS-12 and have been since January 1, 2000. Note:
You must include a copy of your SF-50(s) with your application package to support this response. AND Additional Qualification Requirements:
GS-11 grade level:
A. Have at least one year of specialized experience in contract equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal Service, or comparable pay band in other pay systems, which provided me with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position. Qualifying specialized experience must have been demonstrated by performing duties such as:
(1) performing one or more of the pre-solicitation, pre-award and/or post-award phases of procurement; (2) providing contractors with interpretation of contractual obligations throughout the life of a contract; (3) preparing complex contracting documents such as milestone charts, solicitation documents, modifications, statement of work, etc.; and (4) conducting initial contractor conferences to provide information or clarify special provisions of the contract. OR B. Completed three full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in one of the following fields:
accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. NOTE:
Applicants must submit a copy of their transcripts for verification. OR C. An appropriate combination of graduate level education and specialized experience as defined above. Note:
Only graduate education in excess of two years (36 semester hours beyond the Master's degree) may be combined with experience. To compute, first determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience described above; then, determine your total qualifying graduate level education as a percentage the education required. Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal to at least 100%. Note:

Quality Ranking Factor - For this position it has been determined that those with a Federal Acquisition Certification for Contracting Officer's Representatives (FAC-COR) are likely to perform better. Applicants who possess the FAC-COR certification are more likely to be referred to the hiring agency in the top category. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
