Program Support Assistant (DEU-LRT)

At the full performance level, the incumbent:
Provides administrative support to office staff; plans, coordinates, and carries out day to day administrative support as assigned by the Deputy. Receives and screens telephone calls and visitors. Takes messages for managers and employees as needed, and schedules appointments for visitors. Maintains Program Manager's calendar; schedules appointments, meetings, and conferences; and sees that the Deputy and Program Managers are fully briefed on the matters to be considered before a scheduled meeting. Performs duties associated with timekeeping for the entire Multi-Species Conversation Program (MSCP) office, including certifying timesheets. Ensures all travel authorizations and vouchers are completed within policy deadlines; checks accuracy of authorizations and vouchers filled out by MSCP staff. Responsible for purchasing supplies, services, and/or training under the provisions of MSCP. GS-05:
To qualify for the GS-05 level, your resume must reflect successful completion of 4 years above high school -OR- 1 year of full time specialized experience as defined below equivalent in complexity and difficulty to at least the GS-04 level -OR- a combination of education and experience. Specialized Experience for GS-05:
Defined as experience providing two or more of the following office support services:
preparing correspondence; serving as a timekeeper; making travel arrangements for others; setting up meetings using electronic calendars; tracking/keeping staff informed of suspense dates; or researching/providing answers to questions. GS-06:
To qualify for the GS-06 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent in complexity and difficulty to at least the GS-05 grade level. Specialized experience for GS-06:
Defined as experience providing four or more of the following office support services:
preparing correspondence; serving as a timekeeper; making travel arrangements for others; setting up meetings using electronic calendars; tracking/keeping staff informed of suspense dates; or researching/providing answers to questions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly reflect the experience/education listed above. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
