Construction Control Inspector (MPP-MW)

At the full performance level:
-Serves as the construction representative responsible for construction quality assurance and contract administration activities to assigned construction projects. -Ensures the contractor observes and adheres to safety rules (RSHS and OSHA) on the job site. Checks for posting of the required information at the job site. Conducts labor interviews as directed by the Contract Officer Representative (COR).-Observes work procedures employed by contractor in the manufacture and installation of mechanical/civil projects and calls attentions to methods that would result in faulty installation or damaged equipment. -Reviews and certifies contractors' payment estimate submittals, progress measurement data, and reports of materials and equipment used, against information shown on field inspections and survey reports, and recommends approval or disapproval. -Records changes and modifications to contract drawings and specifications. Observes and investigates all construction phases to ensure compliance with contract schedules, specifications and shop drawings. -Responsible for maintaining a daily log of the project to document contractor progress and resources; such as vehicles, equipment, personnel, materials delivered on site; provide instruction to the contractor regarding quantities of pay items placed, weather conditions, progress of construction, reasons for delay(s), photographs, and any unusual problems encountered. In order to qualify for the GS-10 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service.Specialized Experience for GS-10:
Defined as experience involving civil construction projects specific to water resources structures, conveyance systems and associated mechanical and electrical systems, power generating equipment and systems. Inspection work involves inspection of electrical, mechanical and structural aspects of projects (e.g., canals, pipelines, dams, water treatment plants pumping stations), interpreting plans and specifications, dealing with construction problems. GS-11:
In order to qualify for the GS-11 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-10 level in the Federal service OR three (3) years of progressively higher level education leading to a Doctoral Degree or PhD in a field directly related to the position being filled. Specialized Experience for GS-11:
Defined as experience is defined as experience involving heavy civil construction projects specific to water resources structures, conveyance systems and associated mechanical and electrical systems, power generating equipment and systems. Inspection work involves inspection of electrical, mechanical and structural aspects of projects (e.g., canals, pipelines, dams, water treatment plants pumping stations), interpreting plans and specifications, dealing with construction problems, working with contractors concerning problems of scheduling, interpretation of plans and specifications, selection of work methods and acceptability of materials and workmanship.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly reflect the experience/education listed above. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
