Personnel Security Specialist (MPP-LRT)

Serves as the regional administrator for the Electronic Questionnaire Information Processing (eQIP) System and Personnel Investigative Processing System (PIPS). Initiates and adjudicates National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation cases utilizing documentation from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and by conducting analysis of potentially adverse or derogatory information. Performs personnel security work associated with the execution of the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and the Personal Identification Program. Serves as the Lower Colorado Region (LCR) Security Specialist for the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) program, performing adjudication determinations based on the results of fingerprint checks to OPM for employees and contractors. GS-11:
In order to qualify for the GS-11 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service; OR a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M., if related. DEFINITION OF SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR GS-11:
Experience analyzing, evaluating, and adjudicating background investigations and reports of investigation for suitability including making final adjudicative determinations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly reflect the experience/education listed above. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
