Administrative Support Assistant (OA)

Types a variety of correspondence, forms, records, and reports. Prepares program documents and records transfer expenditures from purchase documents and reconciles expenditures. Serves as the team travel coordinator; prepares travel documents including authorizations and vouchers. Reviews and audits travel vouchers submitted to ensure valid accounts, regulatory policy and other guidelines are met. Tracks outstanding travel authorizations and initiates steps to ensure completion of travel vouchers in a timely manner. Serves as the timekeeper; ensures time and leave is recorded and approved. Responds to employee questions relative to hours of duty and leave. Procures supplies and services. Prepares correspondence, memos, and reports. SELECTIVE FACTOR:
This position requires the skill of a qualified typist with the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. You must document your typing speed on your resume or upload a certificate of proficiency dated within the past 3 years. Failure to provide this information will result in your being deemed ineligible. Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience for this position is maintaining a filing system both electronic and hard copy, the use of computers to develop correspondence, memos, forms and other standardized documents, knowledge of preparing time and attendance; knowledge of administrative processes and procedures in travel and knowledge of commonly used software including word processing. Knowledge of property identification and accountability procedures, and experience coordinating purchasing activities; experience processing budget documents, recording expenditure transfers and reconciling a budget. Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
