Secretary (Office Automation) (MPP-LRT)

Serves in a liaison capacity between the Regional Director's Office (RDO) and Washington, Denver, other Regions, Federal and state officials, Area and Regional Office staff, and agency stakeholders on a variety of subjects, in coordinating meetings and schedules, meeting deadlines, addressing concerns, obtaining information, and providing assistance. Handles critical administrative matters that have a wide-ranging impact to the Lower Colorado Region, ensures that administrative programmatic issues are resolved or directed to the appropriate program manager for resolution. Monitors processing of mail located in desk and/or electronic inboxes (e-mail). Rearranges materials according to suspense dates, bringing deadlines to their attention, and ensuring that mail is moving in a timely manner. Composes correspondence relating to office activities, including preparing and distributing memoranda to key Regional personnel outlining the Director's policies and instructions relating to specific projects, subject matters, etc. Plans and schedules travel for the Regional Director (RD), Deputy Regional Director (DRD), or other RDO staff, including complicated itineraries and international travel. Maintains time and attendance for RDO staff, including creating Key/WOIDs and provides training as required/requested to others in time and attendance functions. Researches, compiles, analyzes and reports on a variety of special requests. Selective Placement Factor:
Applicants must possess typing skill of at least 40 words per minute. Certification may be a certificate of proficiency dated within the past 3 years or self-certification by stating current speed on your application for employment/resume.GS-08:
In order to qualify for the GS-08 grade level, your resume must reflect one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in Federal service. Specialized Experience for GS-08:
Defined as experience serving as a secretary or principal personal assistant to a top level official, making commitments for supervisor without prior approval, explaining non-technical policies/procedures with authority to establish administrative priorities, assign work, interpret guidelines, manage the office, coordinating appointments, schedules, travel, and maintaining calendars; reviewing correspondence for appropriate guidelines, proper grammar and punctuation; and composing and preparing correspondence or other documents in final form. In addition, must have experience using computers and software applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
