Human Resources Assistant

Process a wide range of personnel actions in an automated personnel system and maintains personnel records. Complete personnel actions within established processing timeframes and guidelines. Provide information to applicants, employees, and supervisors regarding human resources rules, procedures, and activities. In-process new employees, provide technical direction on pay, leave, benefits, backgrounds, performance, awards, etc. At the GS-7 level, advertise vacancies, review applications for qualifications, issue referrals, etc. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. To qualify for this position at the GS-04 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position. Examples of general experience include, but are not limited to maintaining a filing system both electronic and hard copy, using computers to develop correspondence, memos, forms and other standardized documents, and preparing reports. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least two years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field of study for which high school graduation or the equivalent was a prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial, or technical school, junior college, college, or university. (One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. You must include transcripts. To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is experience utilizing computers skills to navigate through computer software systems such as personnel or payroll processing systems; maintaining a filing system electronically; developing correspondence, memos, forms and other personnel documents; preparing reports utilizing various software systems such as Excel, WORD, databases and query systems, etc.; providing administrative support services to customers such as the public, employees, supervisors, managers, etc.; and providing new employee orientation. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least four years of education above high school (120 semester or 180 quarter hours) leading to a bachelor's degree in any course of study. You must include transcripts. -OR- COMBINATION:

Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
