Prepares the required forms (such as standard vouchers) to enter data into Federal Financial System (FFS) computer system.
Reviews records and source documents to identify the sources of discrepancies, determines appropriate action required for correction, and prepares entries for processing.
Classifies accounting transactions for entry into the automated system, which includes verifying the accuracy and completeness of the accounting data, and determining the standard general ledger accounts, journals and subsidiary accounts affected, and the debit and credit entries to be made.
Reviews financial statements with final fiscal year reports.
Checks that income and expense ledgers are closed to applicable cost authorities in permanent General Ledger.
Prepares spreadsheets showing totals, differences and required entries.
Ensures that balance sheets and trial balances agree with Summary Reports. You must meet all qualification requirements, including any selective factors, by the closing date of this announcement. Category rating and selection procedures will be used for evaluating this position. KSA 1. Knowledge of accounting principles, methods, procedures, and techniques used in maintaining and analyzing all classes of accounts in an accounting system encompassing a number of diversified projects.
KSA 2. Skill in the use of automated accounting systems, including inserting and retrieving information, generating reports, tracking transactions, and analyzing accounts.
KSA 3. Knowledge of payroll terminology and procedures in order to process payroll information and correct errors in payroll data.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
